Departure & Preparation Checklist

Don't leave home without checking this.....

1. Passport (You can't leave the UK without it )

2. Ferry Tickets/booking ref (Makes things easier at the port)

3. V5 registration document (in the event of an accident required by police)

4. Valid Insurance Certificate (in the event of an accident required by police)

5. Travel Insurance (In the event of an accident will get you Home)

6. EHIC Health Insurance card (Hospital will require it event of an Accident)

7. Credit Cards/Euro's/Travellers cheques

8. Tyre's that can last the trip

9.NO TRACK BIKES ALLOWED * LIGHTS/INDICATORS/MIRRORS/QUIET EXHAUST ( 100db limit)

10. Contact numbers & Directions (Insurance companies/Next of kin/ Slider Guest House)

This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, however from years of sorting out unequipped travellers, it is meant as a guide to help you , and make your holiday go a lot smoother.

* It is a long way to come to only sneak a few laps past the marshalls before they spot your bike is not up to the road laws of the Nordschleife. Even if you, or your mate have been without mirrors, lights or indicators on your bike many times before....then you have just been lucky..

.Also if you have a noisy can.....TAKE IT OFF....there is a strict 100db limit on the ring. V-Twins like Mille's, SP1-2's Ducati's Take note....these are the main targetted bikes
